Craft
In a practice she calls Gallina Clueka, Bogotá-based artist Danna Gutiérrez lets illustrations leave the page and become handheld objects. Working mostly with the pinch technique, she keeps the marks of her fingers in the clay, making each vessel feel like a direct extension of her drawings. The result is a series of tactile ceramics that feel intuitive and alive.
Her most recent drop, El mundo, came together in the days after an earthquake in Colombia. Red circles, running dogs and scratched phrases surface on white jars as a response to rescue scenes and collective care. The work quietly turns personal drawing into an object that can hold meaning — and be held in turn.
