Simon Vergély's Gloriously Imperfect Animations

Animation

Simon Vergély’s animations feel wonderfully unstable. His grainy, hand-drawn worlds wobble and crackle, rejecting slick perfection in favor of raw, tactile life. Inspired by '90s hip-hop and analog imperfections, he builds deliberate roughness into every frame, making the surreal feel strangely honest.

From gravity-defying bodies to grotesque addictions, Vergély’s work is mischievous and darkly funny. A product design background helps him construct images as objects, while self-teaching gives him freedom from convention. The result: animated vignettes that are both naughty and deeply human.
