Damion Silver’s sculptures emerge from an unexpected source: a pile of old, broken skateboards. By embracing the existing stains and finishes of the discarded decks, he lets the material dictate the color palette. The result is a series of playful, abstract forms that feel spontaneous yet deliberate, echoing his lifelong relationship with skateboarding.

Silver’s practice spans printmaking, assemblage, and sculpture, but this body of work stands out for its resourceful creativity. Cutting and assembling the boards on a bandsaw, he achieves complex shapes that steam-bending couldn’t deliver.
