Sara Flores, now in her late 70s, creates intricate Kené patterns using handmade vegetal dyes on wild cotton. Her meticulous geometric designs, passed down from her mother, are deeply tied to Shipibo-Konibo beliefs and the Amazonian environment. The patterns evoke meditative states and represent a philosophy of interconnectedness and collective well-being.

Currently on view at White Cube New York and the Peru Pavilion at the Venice Biennale, Flores' work marks a historic milestone as she becomes the first Indigenous artist to represent Peru at the Biennale. Collaborating with her daughters, she transforms traditional textile techniques into large-scale paintings, bridging ancestral knowledge with contemporary art.
