Gaia Alari's illustrations feel wonderfully alive in their imperfection. Her wobbly pencil lines, charcoal smudges, and crosshatching create characters that seem to breathe on the page. Blending contemporary art with a playful, almost childlike curiosity, she builds immersive worlds full of flowers, tangled pigeons, and stretching bodies—study them and you can almost see the artist's hand moving.
From hand-drawn animations for MoMA and The Atlantic to work with Coldplay and Beats by Dre, Alari brings the same handmade warmth to motion. Her frame-by-frame approach, like the 1,200 drawings for a somatic exercise video, lets emotions morph and stretch organically. Always starting on paper, she balances concept and instinct, inviting viewers to follow her wandering, exquisite-corpse-like storytelling.
