Sukanya Mukherjee and Arnar Skarphéðinsson transport us 150 years into a fictional Eldborg, where architecture is cast directly from volcanic eruptions. The film reframes environmental catastrophe as a generative force, grounding its futuristic vision in Iceland's raw geology.

Created for the Iceland Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale, the project rethinks construction through sustainable, non-extractive means. Its stark, monumental imagery lingers—a brutalist dreamscape that feels both ancient and radically new.
