The Art of Flowers: In Conversation with Carolin Ruggaber

Art

Carolin Ruggaber's sculptural floral works occupy the threshold between the built and the grown. Raised in the Black Forest, she began as a florist and later studied at the Academy of Flowerdesign in Switzerland. Her practice blossomed during COVID when she created guerrilla installations in public spaces, bringing joy to isolated communities.

Her commissions for Cartier and Hermès showcase how she recontextualizes nature's forms. Inspired by Gaudí's organic architecture and the golden ratio, she creates balanced compositions that spiral and flow. Ruggaber sees herself as a transmitter, helping viewers see the beauty already present in the world around them.
