Caleb Weintraub's "Throttle. Fang. Feather." series delivers intensely physical paintings where thick oil, acrylic, epoxy clay, and foam create sculpted surfaces. The works play with exaggerated depth, casting real and fake shadows, resulting in a tactile, almost relief-like quality that encroaches on the viewer.
Symbols are deliberately disordered: sabers, motorcycles, heraldic armor, a martyr with a chainsaw. Weintraub salvages paint from abandoned palettes, cutting and recombining scraps. The figures reach for force and ceremony through emblems and tattoos, horses and motorcycles interchange, and birds act as omens—a chaotic, devotional mix.
