Lydia Hansen's Fungi Hunt series places handcrafted, crocheted mushrooms along Minnesota hiking trails, turning an ordinary walk into a treasure hunt. Each piece is made from secondhand yarn and modeled on native species such as oyster mushrooms and turkey tails, celebrating the region's subtle fungal diversity.

The project, now in its third iteration at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center, includes interpretive signage developed with naturalist Tanner Barnharst. Hansen's experiential fiber art blurs the line between object and environment, prompting hikers to notice what is already around them. Her playful interventions are temporary, leaving no trace on the landscape.
