Offor’s portrait series turns the hair salon into a sacred space where Black women can let their guard down and simply be. By weaving autofiction, self-portraiture, and the textures of communal ritual, she reflects on the intimate labor of care and the bond that forms between ‘sisters’ across the diaspora.
Shot in New York and beyond, the imagery is soft yet grounded, capturing quiet moments in between the styling—pauses that speak to memory, healing, and belonging. The Igbo title adds another layer, pointing to the photographer’s own search for self through the women she photographs.
