Riccardo Magherini's "The Shape of Memories" is a long-term photographic exploration of urban disorientation. Rather than capturing a single moment, each image is a studio-assembled composite of hundreds of fragments from cities like Tokyo and Bangkok. The result is a dense, layered visual that mimics the way memory accumulates—blurring the line between documentation and emotion.
The project challenges traditional photography by reconstructing felt experiences over recorded realities. Magherini's technique of collecting fragments and layering them until they carry emotional weight creates images that feel alive with the noise and flux of the city. Viewers are invited to step inside, not as observers of a frozen second, but as participants in a living space of memory.
